Just 5 minutes drive from the glamorous town of Marbella and 20km from Fuengirola, is the Marbella Golf and Country Club, an 18-hole championship course designed by Robert Trent Jones Snr. and opened in 1994. It carries Trent’s trademark sweeping fairways, abundant bunkers, and large undulating greens.
The initial tees require accurate and brave tee offs to get over the ravines and gullies. Deep bunkers in the olive groves at the 8th can also provide a challenge. Although the second nine is somewhat easier on the nerves, beware the 11th, a sharp dog leg right with hills and valleys.
The course really compliments its surrounding environment especially on the second half where several lakes feature. Exquisite gardens surround the amazing Clubhouse.
